The format fits right in-between Alpha Media’s Urban “Beatz 96.3” and Urban AC “X102.3” WMBX. The 250w/156m translator signal covers all of West Palm Beach and adjacent cities.

Educational Media Foundation will bring its “Air 1” network to Pittsburgh PA after agreeing to a swap of translators with Family Stations. EMF will swap 90.5 W215CL West Palm FL to Family Station in exchange for 97.7 W249BD West View/Pittsburgh PA. W249BD operates with 190w vertical/89m and will rebroadcast 98.3 WPKV-HD2 Duquesne. W215CL, which holds a CP to upgrade to 160w/114m, will rebroadcast the Family Radio network via a satellite feed of 88.1 KEBR Sacramento CA. The translator was one of three owned by EMF in West Palm Beach. “Air 1” will continue to be heard on 104.7 W284CR via 90.7 WPLV-HD3, while 101.9 W270AD is leased to Public News/Talk 91.3 WLRN Miami

ANCO Media Group is petitioning the FCC to allow its group of Italian citizens to purchase Zoo Communications and its Dance “Revolution 93.5” network of 93.5 WBGF Belle Glade, 93.5 WZFL Islamorada, 93.5 W228BV Fort Lauderdale, and 93.5 W228BY Miami FL from Zoo Communications for $1 million. Claudio Dompe and Marco Mazzoli would each own a 40% stake of the company, while Dompe’s daughter Claudia Dompe and Mazzoli’s wife Stefania Pittaluga would each hold 10% stakes. True Oldies Moves In West Palm Beach

Following the sale of 93.5 WBGF Belle Glade FL, JVC Broadcasting has moved the True Oldies Channel programming in the West Palm Beach market. Soft AC “95.9 The Palm” 960 WSVU North Palm Beach/95.9 W240CI North Palm Beach/106.9 W295BJ Jupiter dropped its format on Tuesday and picked up the syndicated Oldies programming that had been heard on 93.5 WBGF and 92.5 W223CJ West Palm Beach. We are awaiting confirmation on what programming W223CJ is carrying now. WSVU registered a 0.7 share in the July 2017 Nielsen Audio ratings trending down from a 1.2 in May. WBGF’s Oldies format, which launched in January, held a 0.3 share.

WBZT Flips To Sports

iHeartMedia has flipped Business/Talk 1230 WBZT West Palm Beach to Sports as “1230 The Zone“. With the format change WBZT will simulcast Jeff ‘Defo’ DeForrest’s morning show from sister 940 WINZ Miami from 6-10am. Norsan owns stations in Charlotte NC, Columbia SC, and Jacksonville FL. In a deal not yet filed with the FCC, Capps Broadcast Group is selling its six stations in Pendleton OR and Walla Walla WA to Randy McKone’s Elkhorn Media Group for an undisclosed amount. Alpha Media has relaunched “Fox Sports 640” WMEN Royal Palm Beach FL as “640 The Hurricane“. The rebranding coincides with the announcement that WMEN will serve as the West Palm Beach affiliate for the University of Miami Hurricanes. The station carries the national Fox Sports Radio lineup along with New York Yankees baseball and Florida Panthers hockey. Raineri has previously hosted mornings at Hot AC 97.9 WRMF and Sports 640 WMEN in the West Palm Beach market. At WZFL he will join incumbent co-hosts Charisse and Kelly Razzberry.
