Update 11/18: The long expected flip of “92.9 The Mountain” took place at 5:00pm today as the station dropped its Modern AC format for a poppier blend as “My 92.9“. Listen to the launch at FormatChange.com.
The new station is branding itself as “The 80’s, Now, and Everything In Between”. The first hour consisted of:

Original Report 11/4: A change or rebranding at Clear Channel Modern AC “92.9 The Mountain” KWMT-FM Tucson appears imminent.
Clear Channel registered My929Tucson.com for use on the station. A shift to a more traditional Hot AC or AC would place the station in direct competition with Journal’s “94.9 Mix-FM” KMXZ. Mountain Program Director Chris Patyk and his morning co-host Jennie Grabel were both let go as part of the Clear Channel layoffs last week.
