Greater Media AC “Magic 100.1” WJRZ Manahawkin, NJ returned to its previous Classic Hits format at 6:00am on Monday, April 22.

WJRZ, which covers the Ocean County portion of the Monmouth/Ocean market, previously featured a Classic Hits format from 2000 until November 2009. The move back comes following the musical shift of Press Communications AC “Breeze” 107.1 WWZY/99.7 WBHX to a more current/recurrent direction with a new moniker.

Glenn Kalina remains in place as PD, however morning co-host Dianne DeOlivera and afternoon host Tripp Rogers have been let go. The station will run jockless through early May.

WJRZ has failed to reach a 2.0 share since the flip to AC. The move gives it a format to itself in an area that skews older with many retirees. The AC format is continued to be served by the aforementioned WWZY/WBHX and Townsquare Media’s 92.7 WOBM-FM Toms River.

100.1 WJRZ’s programming is also heard on 100.7 W264AM Toms River and 107.9 W300AO Manahwakin. Greater Media also owns Rock “95.9 The Rat” WRAT Point Pleasant in the Monmouth/Ocean market.
