December 9, 2013

710 WOR New York Mets Elliott In The Morning Limbaugh Hannity Joan Hamburg John & KenClear Channel Talk 710 WOR New York has finalized its new lineup for 2014.

With morning host John Gambling retiring at the end of this year and Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity moving from Cumulus’ 770 WABC, all but two daytime hours will remain the same.

Elliot Segal’s “Elliot In The Morning“, currently based at Alternative “DC101” WWDC Washington and simulcast on “XL102” WRXL Richmond, VA will move its base of operations to WOR, while being syndicated back to those markets from 6-10am. Before taking over mornings at DC101, Segal co-hosted mornings CHR “Z100” with Elvis Duran.

Mark Simone will remain in the 10am-12pm slot, followed by Limbaugh from 12 to 3 and Hannity from 3-6pm. Andy Dean keeps the 6-9pm slot, while Dave Ramsey’s syndicated show moves from 2-4pm to 9pm-12am, when not pre-empted by New York Mets baseball. Departing the schedule are afternoon host Rita Cosby, the simulcast of KFI Los Angeles’ John & Ken, and Clyde Lewis.

Joan Hamburg will move from weekdays to weekends, with her long-running show airing from 10am-12pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Clear Channel’s Press Release follows:

Clear Channel Media and Entertainment announced today an all-new 2014 programming line-up for New York’s News/Talk station WOR 710 AM.

Iconic radio talk show hosts Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, the top two radio talk show hosts in the country, will be heard on WOR beginning January 1 in mid-day, with Limbaugh broadcasting from noon to 3 p.m. and Hannity from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

“Rush and Sean have provided us a great opportunity to bring this unbeatable, one-two combination to WOR as the heart of our lineup in New York,” said Tom Schurr, President of Major Markets for Clear Channel Media and Entertainment. “Talk format listeners are extremely loyal and dedicated to their favorite personalities; this new lineup enables us to both give them what they’ve told us they want to hear and to invest in a format we are deeply committed to.”

WOR listeners will also be able to enjoy the highly successful morning show “Elliot in the Morning” as part of the new line-up beginning on January 13. Elliot Segal and his team, currently heard on Washington DC’s WWDC – DC101 – and Richmond’s WRXL, will bring their entertaining morning show to WOR in the new year, discussing sports, music, culture, news and entertainment topics weekdays from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. “Elliot in the Morning” will now be broadcasted from New York City and will continue to be heard on DC101 and WRXL.

“I’m excited to be coming back to New York, to a station with such a legendary history,” said Segal. “We have built something very special in Washington, DC and Richmond and I’m beyond thrilled that the show will continue airing on DC/101 and XL-102. Now, WOR will be home to Elliot In The Morning and I couldn’t be more anxious to get going.”

New WOR 2014 Line-up Includes:

· Elliot in the Morning 6 a.m. – 10 a.m.
· Mark Simone 10 a.m. – Noon
· Rush Limbaugh Noon – 3 p.m.
· Sean Hannity 3p.m. – 6 p.m.
· Andy Dean 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
· Dave Ramsey 9 p.m. – Midnight
· The Joan Hamburg Show (Saturdays & Sundays) 10 a.m. – Noon

“This is an incredibly exciting time for WOR,” said Joe Puglise, President and Market Manager for New York City at Clear Channel. “Bringing America’s top two talk show hosts to our lineup, the entertaining Elliot Segal and his team to the mornings and becoming the flagship station for the Mets will allow us to create unprecedented marketing opportunities for our partners and unbeatable programming for our listeners.”

    Maybe history will repeat itself.
WWDC was the station where Howard Stern was working before he came to New York (in his case to W-NNNNNNNNN-B-C).
    That worked out pretty well.
