The Phoenix market has been a hotbed for format change activity in 2014. In just a little over three weeks we now have our fourth format change of the year.
Riveria Broadcast Group makes its second change of the year as it has shifted Spanish CHR “95.1 Tu Musica” KVIB to Spanish AC “Solamente Exitos“. The move broadens KVIB’s playlist to include songs from the 1980s through today and positions the station against Spanish Adult Hits “Jose 106.9/107.1” KDVA/KVVA. The current airstaff remains in place with the change.
KVIB had already broadened its playlist over the past year as it dropped its prior “Latino Vibe” moniker and shifted from Spanish Urban to CHR. The station registered a 1.4 share in the Holiday 2013 PPM monthly released yesterday continuing a slow upward trend from 1.2 in November and 1.3 in December.
