Cumulus Alternative “99X” 98.9 W255CJ Atlanta/WWWQ-HD2 is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the launch of the brand on October 26 by bringing back former “The Morning X” staffers for the day.

The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports that Steve Barnes, Leslie Fram and Jimmy Baron will reunite for the morning show on the 26th from 6-10am. Fram served as APD and then Program Director and morning co-host for the entire run of the original 99X. She then spent time programming AAA 101.9 WRXP New York and is currently SVP/Music Strategy & Talent for CMT. Barnes was part of the morning show from 1992-2003 and later worked at AAA “92.9 Dave-FM” WZGC. He currently runs a video production company. Baron was part of the morning show from 1993-2006 and then also spent time at WZGC.

Then CHR “Power 99” 99.7 WAPW flipped to Alternative “99X” at 12pm on September 26, 1992. The station gave way to CHR “Q100” WWWQ in January 2008 before being resurrected twice on translators, the most recent version debuting in January 2016.
