Coming up on her 20th anniversary with the cluster, Erin Bristol will be departing Townsquare Media Shreveport to take a position at a non-profit.
Bristol shared on Facebook, “I’ve decided to take my career in a new direction. After 28 years and a lot of blood, sweat, tears, and some of the best times of my life, I’m leaving radio for the non-profit sector, specifically Volunteers for Youth Justice. This has been on my heart for a long time, and when this opportunity became available, it spoke to me. This is what I need to feed my soul, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with Townsquare Media Shreveport, I love my co-workers, especially that damn Gary McCoy, but I have to do this for me. I’ll still be working with my fabulous clients like Shed It On Shed Road and Jerry’s Wholesale Tire Company, etc… and we’re still figuring out the details of what my role will look like going forward, it’ll just be on a part-time basis… So, rest assured, I’m not completely unplugging my headphones. While I’m not sure what the future holds and I have too many people to thank for their support, please know I’m excited, scared, and most of all, ready to wake up again at a decent hour 🙂 Thank you for lending me your ears and spending your time with me, it has truly been an honor. Bristol, who was Music Director and midday host on CHR “Big Dog 94.5” KRUF when it flipped to CHR in 1996-97, returned in August 2004 as Program Director and would oversee its rebrand as “K94.5“. She would later add duties as PD/afternoon host on AC 96.5 KVKI and morning co-host at “93.7 Kiss Country” KXKS-FM. Between tenures in Shreveport, Bristol serves as APD/MD at Hot AC “Mix 94.1” WVMX Cincinnati and Program Director of Hot AC 96.5 WMT-FM Cedar Rapids IA and the combo of CHR “Hot 107.9” WWHT and Rock “105.1 The Dog” WWDG Syracuse NY.
Townsquare is seeking to fill two positions in Shreveport. A Digital & Radio Content Leader for KRUF and KXKS (equivalent of a Program Director or Brand Manager) and a morning co-host for KRUF.
