Core Communicators Classic Hip-Hop “Old School 99.3” W257DF Dallas, GA/94.9 WUBL-HD3 Atlanta has gone dark due to interference issues.
Since moving its antenna earlier this year from the western suburbs to just east of downtown, W257DF has dealt been causing interference to Country 99.3 WCON-FM Cornelia. The translator has been operating under Special Temporary Authority to reduce its power towards WCON since March, but that hasn’t done anything to eliminate all of the interference.
In a Remain Silent Authority application filed yesterday, W257DF states that they are testing their equipment to see if they can identify any problems with the transmitter or directional antenna and will consider options to eliminate interference including reducing ERP. They expect it will take more than 30 days to return the translator to the air in a manner that will eliminate the interference issues.
In the interim the “Old School 99.3” programming remains available online and their leased WUBL-HD3.
