Cumulus has named a new Program Director for News/Talk 810 KGO and Conservative Talk 560 KSFO San Francisco.
Mike Anthony, currently GM of Empire Broadcasting’s News 1590 KLIV San Jose will make the move up to San Francisco. Anthony previously was VP/Programming for Mapleton Communications, Market Manager of their Monterey stations and owner of ResearchWorks. His appointment comes one day following Lee Hammer adding Operations Manager duties for KSFO/KGO on top of his job as OM/PD of Sports 680 KNBR and 1050 KTCT.
Cumulus Media announces that it has appointed Mike Anthony as Program Director for KGO 810 and KSFO 560. Anthony was formerly General Manager of Empire Broadcastings KLIV in San Jose, and prior to that, was Senior Vice President, Programming, for Mapleton Communications in Monterey, CA, for 11 years, where he oversaw programming strategies and content for 41 radio stations and was also Market Manager for Mapleton’s five FM stations in Monterey. He is also owner of ResearchWorks, a Palo Alto-based media research company, which he has operated for nearly 24 years. Anthony has served as Chief Executive Officer of TunesFeed.org, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that uses music surveys as a mechanism to generate food donations while putting a spotlight on the problem of child hunger and food insecurity in communities.
Lee Hammer, newly promoted Operations Manager for Cumulus San Francisco’s KGO, KSFO, KTCT and KNBR said: “Mike’s knowledge of the NewsTalk format and his significant research background made him the ideal candidate to lead the KGO/KSFO team.”
