Following the sale and flip of 90.9 KGCB Prescott AZ and its three translators to Educational Media Foundation’s “K-Love” network, the locally programmed “Arizona Shine” Christian AC format has returned to Flagstaff and Prescott via Great Circle Media.
Great Circle flipped 1450 KNOT Prescott from Oldies “Fun Oldies” in mid-October paired with 103.9 K265CI Prescott (just moved from 100.9) with the former staff of Grand Canyon Broadcasting’s KGCB operating the station. Now the station has added a new signal in Flagstaff as 99.3 K257FI Parks has signed-on with 132 watts at 589 meters (Coverage Map).

And so much for Shine’s GM commenting at the time of sign-off, “Welcome (K-Love) as you have welcomed us…”
Fully expecting to be told I’m wrong, allow me to say that I’m personally fed up with religious radio operators who say one thing and then do just the opposite. Don’t say” welcome them” and then do everything you can to compete against them. To me, you’re only hurting yourselves.
I wonder if they’re leasing the time from Great Circle? The Shine website still says it’s listener supported.
