Original Report 12/17: Stan Kroenke’s KSE Media Ventures is adding a fourth Denver station to its portfolio.
Entercom will sell “Cruisin’ Oldies 950” KRWZ Parker CO to KSE for an undisclosed price. KSE is in the process of acquiring Country “92.5 The Wolf” KWOF, Hot AC “Mix 100.3” KIMN and Classic Hits “Kool 105.1” KXKL Denver from Wilks Broadcast Group for $54 million.
KRWZ currently serves as the flagship station of Kroenke’s NBA Denver Nuggets and NHL Colorado Avalanche.

It looks like we didn’t see this one coming. Guess it’s time for Cruisin’ 950 to make their final ride to the Oldies format in the sky.
This sale actually might have saved the format. Entercom really does not do any type of Oldies or Classic Hits formats. The one in Miami might be on the road to a format flip. The only other one gets decent ratings, but could flip at anytime.
However, then KSE would have two Oldies stations in Denver. One will flip while the other will remain oldies.
Actually, KSE will flip KRWZ to Sports once the sale is finalized.
Which one? KEYN in Wichita? It does just fine here.
In fact, as of the Fall 2015 book, its #2 behind KFDI.
