Update 12/29: Townsquare confirms that WBZZ will become “105.7 Crush-FM” at midnight on Monday, January 3. The station’s Facebook page lists Christina Aguilera, Bon Jovi, Usher, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Dr. Dre among the core artists for the station.

Original Report 12/24: When Townsquare Media AC “Buzz 105.7” WBZZ Albany, NY dropped its moniker for “Santa 105.7” in early November all expectations were that a new format would soon follow. 1057Crush.com, 1057CrushFM.com, and Crush1057.com have been registered by Townsquare Media this week. The name is pretty ambiguous in terms of a potential format and is unique, something we hope to see more of in 2011.
