CBS Radio Classic Hits 101.1 WCBS-FM New York will reunite the original cast of the “Z Morning Zoo” on Friday, April 1.
WCBS-FM morning host Scott Shannon, who as Program Director put CHR “Z100” WHTZ on the air in 1983, will be joined by his former teammates Ross Brittain, Claire Stevens and Jonathan B. Bell for the reunion. The special “Morning Zoo Reunion” will take place at CBS’ Adorama Live Theater at their 345 Hudson Street studios from 6-10am on April 1.
The quartet hosted mornings at WHTZ for most of the 1980s. Shannon from the station’s sign-on until his departure in 1989. Brittain joined Z100 from 770 WABC soon after its launch and stayed through 1985, only to return from 1987 through 1994. Claire Stevens was the station’s news director until 1991 and John Bell was one of the only hold-overs from 100.3 WVNJ-FM prior to the launch of WHTZ and the last original employee to exit when he was fired in 2010.
