Alaska Integrated Media has flipped Smooth Jazz “87.7 The Breeze” KNIK-LP Anchorage AK to Classic Country.
Branded as “Alaska’s Real Country“, the station has also begun simulcasting on 98.5 K253CA Eagle River/Anchorage to reach those whose tuners do not have access to the 87.7 signal. KNIK-LP is utilizing programming from Westwood One’s Real Country network.
The flip comes after stunting with Christmas music for the holiday season and then looping one song a day until Wednesday’s launch. KNIK-LP was the first of the analog channel 6 television stations to operate as a radio station when it became “87.7 The End” KZND-LP in 1999.
