iHeartMedia has purchased 93.7 K229BS Lakewood/Denver CO from Hunt Broadcasting for $1.8 million. K229BS currently serves as the FM side of Oldies “93.7 The Rock” 1510 KCKK Littleton, but will be paired by iHeartMedia with what is now Sports “Orange & Blue 760” KDSP Thornton. The 99w/218m translator operates from Lookout Mountain overlooking Denver and covers the bulk of the Denver metro.
iHeartMedia and Salem Communications have swapped translators in Florida. iHeartMedia acquires 103.1 W276CR Bradenton, which will rebroadcast an HD subchannel of 106.5 WRUB Sarasota. Salem adds 100.3 W262CP Bayonet Point/Clearwater which will rebroadcast “Faith Talk 570” WTBN Pinellas Park.
Bristol Broadcasting purchases 92.3 W222AG Johnson City TN from Jet Broadcasting for $50,000. W222AG currently rebroadcasts Jet’s News “Livewire 103.9” WXIS Erwin but Bristol has not indicated what station it will utilize the translator with.
Truth Broadcasting converts its LMA of 1090 WTSB/105.5 W288DH Selma NC into a purchase for $175,000. Lamm Media Group leased WTSB to Truth starting in April following the retirement of owner Carl Lamm.
Mark Ford’s Eastern Broadcasting Company acquires Full Service AC 1410 WHLN Harlan KY from Radio Harlan Inc. for $110,000. WHLN joins Eastern’s two other stations in Harlan: “Wild Kountry 105.1” WTUK and Southern Gospel 970 WFSR.
