Following the move of Classic Rock “Q103” to “Q105.7” WQSH at the start of July, Townsquare Media has been running a jockless Classic Rock feed on 103.5 WQBJ Cobleskill and 103.9 WQBK-FM Rensselaer/Albany NY to redirect listeners to the new frequency.
A month later, Townsquare has debuted two new formats in the market as it breaks up the 103.5 and 103.9 simulcast for the first time since 1994. 103.5 WQBJ has become “Alt 103.5” picking up the format and brand that had been on 105.7 prior to the move of the Classic Rock format with the odd one month break. WQBJ rimshots Albany proper covering the areas west of the city and the Mohawk Valley up to Utica.
103.9 WQBK-FM has flipped to Soft AC “103.9 The Breeze“. The Class A signal covers Albany and areas south of the city with the new format creating a competitor to Pamal Broadcasting AC “B95.5” WYJB.
