iHeartMedia Central California Area SVP/Programming Steve Weed has retired after a near 50 year career. Once known as ‘Smokin’ Steve Weed” at stations like WHBQ Memphis, KIIS-FM Los Angeles and WXLO New York, Weed later shifted to programming with runs at KHIT Seattle, WCZY and WKQI Detroit and WMXV/WDBZ New York before heading to Sacramento to launch CHR “107.9 The End” KDND where he stayed until the infamous Wii stunt. He later rebounded as OM of Mainline Broadcasting’s Dayton OH cluster before joining iHeart in 2010 as OM first of their Fresno cluster then moving to Sacramento. He returned to Fresno in 2015 as the Area SVP/Programming.

Gregg had been with KBEQ since 1996.
