As part of the series of cuts being tied to the current economic conditions made by Alpha Media, Country “98.7 The Bull” KUPL Portland has cut ties with a trio of staffers. Departing the station are Alpha Media’s Country Format Captain and KUPL PD/afternoon host MoJoe Roberts as well as morning co-hosts Tony Russell and Jake Byron.
Roberts joined KUPL in March 2016 after spending fourteen years programming Cumulus Media’s CHR’s in Modesto CA. He previously worked in Country with stops at KXDD Yakima, KQFC Boise and KATM Modesto. Roberts added the role of Country Format Captain in February 2018.
Jake Byron has been with KUPL since 2004 and has been on the morning show through multiple incarnations since 2014.
Tony Russell joined the morning show in March 2017 after a decade of co-hosting The Fitz Show at KKWF Seattle from 2005-2015. He has also spent time at WFLC Miami, KJYO Oklahoma City, and KPLX, KRBV and KVIL Dallas.
Jenn Hays, who was the third part of the morning show with Byron and Russell, remains with KUPL but moves to middays. APD/MD/midday host Danny Dwyer will slide to afternoons replacing Roberts. Cassidy Quinn remains in evenings.
