As first indicated in our 4/16 Domain Insight, iHeartMedia has flipped Alternative “Alt 105.7” WRDA Canton/Atlanta to Spanish CHR “Z105.7“.

WRDA is currently simulcasting on 105.3 WBZY Bowdon, where the “Z” format has been heard since October 2018. 105.3 WBZY serves areas to the south and west of Atlanta, while 105.7 WRDA covers the more populous northern and eastern portions of the market. The company has yet to announce plans or a timeline for a new format on 105.3.

Both WRDA and WBZY held 0.9 shares in the just released March 2020 Nielsen Audio ratings. The end of the three and a half year old Alternative format on the primary 105.7 signal leaves just Cumulus Media’s “99X” 98.9 W255CJ/WWWQ-HD2 in Atlanta. 99X held just a 0.1 share in the March ratings. iHeart will continue the “Alt” brand on WRDA-HD2.

iHeartMedia Atlanta announced today that Z105.3, Tu Estación Para Super Hits, is moving to 105.7 FM, effective immediately. The move will allow a larger audience to enjoy The Spanish Contemporary format. The station is also currently broadcasting on Z105.3.

Z105.7 will broadcast popular Spanish Contemporary Hit Radio songs from top artists including Daddy Yankee, Anuel AA, Ozuna, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Karol G, Romeo Santos, Marc Anthony and more. Listeners can also tune in to hear their favorite top-rated on-air personalities such as Enrique Santos, Jessi Dee and more.

“This is a tremendous opportunity to move the signal where more of the Hispanic audience can enjoy the music, information and the top-rated ‘Tu Mañana Con Enrique Santos’ show,” said Meg Stevens, Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Atlanta.
