Following the appointment of Mike McCoy to oversee their Rochester NY cluster last week, another longtime Oklahoma City programmer is joining Stephens Media Group.
Kent Jones, who programmed and hosted mornings at Tyler Media Classic Hits 92.5 KOMA-FM Oklahoma City for 31 years until his exit in January, will serve as Operations Manager for Stephens Media Group’s cluster in Spokane WA.
Jones will also serve as Program Director for Classic Hits “Key 101.1” KEYF and Variety Hits “103.9 Bob-FM” KBBD. He will also host mornings at KEYF and continue to track middays for Stephens’ 1980s Hits “Totally Awesome 80s 100.9” KTSO Tulsa OK as he has done since 2016. Prior to heading to Oklahoma City in 1988, Jones served as PD/morning host at 1260 WNDE Indianapolis, APD/MD/Engineer at 610 WTVN Columbus, and held on-air and engineering roles at WOUB Athens OH, WBRW Bridgewater NJ, WOMI Owensboro KY, and WKYG Parkersburg WV.
In addition to KEYF and KBBD, Stephens Media Group Spokane includes Country “93.7 The Mountain” KDRK, CHR “105.7 Now-FM” KZBD, Rock “94.1 The Bear” 790 KJRB/94.1 K231CU, Hip Hop/Sports “103.5 The Game” 1510 KGA/103.5 K278CY.

Kent Jones, a graduate of Ohio University, moves from Oklahoma City, where he served as Program Director at KOMA for 31 years. He also hosted the top-rated “Lisa and Kent” morning show.
According to Stephens Media Group SVP Programming Bob Thornton, “Kent has been an independent contractor for us over the past 4 years so this feels a little bit like a promotion from within. Kent has been a key part of our family already, which made this decision a no-brainer. His success in both morning drive and programming made him an incredible candidate for this position.”
Jones will host morning drive on KEYF and will serve as Program Director for KEYF and KBBD.
