Langer Broadcasting has taken its three stations including two in Boston off the air.
In its STA filing with the FCC, Langer notes “The licensee is reorganizing its financing and considering its options with respect to returning the station to the air. Therefore the licensee respectfully requests silent authority for six months so as to be able to find new investors, modify its operation, etc.”
Langer owns what was previously brokered Portuguese “Rede ABR” 650 WSRO Ashland/102.1 W271CU Framingham with simulcaster 1240 WBAS/101.5 W268CP West Yarmouth and brokered R&B “Urban Heat 98.1” 1410 WZBR Dedham/98.1 W251CR Medford. The latter is continuing to operate as a webcaster.

it’s a shame that AM radio stations are biting the dust. The coronavirus is partly to blame for this.
