iHeartMedia has flipped Classic Hits “98.7 The Brew” 1400 WBIZ/98.7 W254CN Eau Claire WI to Sports “98.7 The Fan“.
The weekday lineup will feature a mix of Minneapolis and Milwaukee based programming with “100.3 K-Fan” KFXN Minneapolis’ The Power Trip airing in mornings and Dan ‘Common Man’ Cole from 12-3pm. “97.3 The Game” WRNW-FM Milwaukee’s Nine to Noon with John Kuhn will air from 9am-12pm and Drew & KB from 3-6pm. The station will carry local high school sports as well as play-by-play from all four professional Minneapolis teams. Fox Sports Radio programming will air in nights and weekends.
iHeartMedia Eau Claire announced today the debut of the new 98-7 The Fan, The Chippewa Valley’s Sports Station, effective immediately.
98-7 The Fan will broadcast Chippewa Valley area high school sports and professional sports including Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Wild, Minnesota Vikings and Milwaukee Bucks.
“The Chippewa Valley is often a house divided when it comes to Wisconsin and Minnesota sports teams,” said Dave DeVille, Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Eau Claire. “We’ve curated a home base station for all sports fans to enjoy.”

I had to reread the press release a few times to be sure, but it looks like the station is carrying the Bucks (and not the Timberwolves)–so there’s one Wisconsin pro team being aired.
