Gen Media Partners has announced the promotion of Danno Wolkoff to Chief Operating Officer of syndicator Sun Broadcast Group.
Wolkoff joined Sun earlier this year as part of the acquisition of his Envision Networks and has served as Chief Development Officer since the deal.
Julio Aponte, who has been with Sun Broadcast Group since 2013 and served as COO since 2014, has exited the company.
Sun also announced that the company has added Jackie Cardillo and Angela Codella as New York based ad sales reps and will be expanding staffing in its Cleveland office where Wolkoff is based.
Gen Media Partners is proud to announce longtime network radio executive Danno Wolkoff has been named Chief Operating Officer of Sun Broadcast Group, the company’s general market network division. Wolkoff is best-known for building Envision Networks into one of the most successful and prominent content and affiliate services providers in network radio. Along with co-founder and partner Laura Orkin, Wolkoff stayed on when Envision was acquired by Gen Media Partners, through Sun Broadcast Group, in January of this year. Sun has created two additional New York-based ad sales positions with the hiring of Jackie Cardillo and Angela Codella, both of whom will report directly to Wolkoff. The announcements were made by Kevin Garrity, Chief Executive Officer of Gen Media Partners.
Warren Friedland, Managing Partner of Gen Media Partners, stated, “I am thrilled to have Danno leading the operations of our network division. We see a lot of opportunity for us to grow, and we are optimistic about achieving our goals of making Sun one the largest radio networks in the USA.”
“I am as excited as I’ve ever been in my career to lead the growth of Sun Broadcast Group,” said Wolkoff. “The combined programs and services of Sun and Envision allow us to continue to expand and deliver stellar quality programs and services to radio stations in all size markets across the country. We will look to maximize all of Sun’s resources to create new opportunities for advertisers with both audio and digital networks.”
“Danno has not only been a dear friend of mine for the last nine years, he’s also been my partner here at SBG since January,” added Jason Bailey, President of Sun Broadcast Group. “I’m excited for him to step into this role and lead the team to great new heights!”
