iHeartMedia Classic Rock “105.9 The Rock” WNRQ Nashville is bringing in the Josh Innes Show for mornings.
Innes joins WNRQ after a long run in Sports talk with stints afternoons at 610 KILT Houston, afternoons and mornings at 790 KBME Houston where he was also syndicated to WODT New Orleans, and nights and afternoons at 94.1 WIP Philadelphia. He has spent the past year as a long-term fill-in at “ESPN 97.5” KFNC Houston hosting 2-4pm.
Russ ‘Whip’ Rose, midday host at Alternative “105.9 The X” WXDX Pittsburgh, has been hosting mornings remotely since the station dropped the syndicated John Boy & Billy last spring.
Innes will debut on Monday, April 5.
Nashville’s Classic Rock, announced today the debut of “The Josh Innes Show,” effective April 5. “The Josh Innes Show” will be a Nashville-focused blend of classic rock, news, sports and commentary and will broadcast weekday mornings from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. CST.
“Josh is wildly talented as a personality, idea generator and storyteller,” said Jonathan Shuford, Program Director for 105.9 The Rock. “He’s unconventional, creative and exceptionally compelling. Innes joins Nashville from Houston, where he most recently served as the afternoon host on ESPN 97.5 + 92.5. He previously was a host for iHeartMedia Houston’s SportsTalk790, and before that was a staple at WIP-AM in Philadelphia. He also hosts a successful eponymous podcast, “The Josh Innes Show,” hosted live on Twitch and heard on iHeartRadio and everywhere podcasts are heard.
