Beasley Media has launched Sports “The Roar” on 93.5 W228CJ Detroit/99.1 W256EA Ecorse and 94.7 WCSX-HD2 Detroit.
The Roar will carry a combination of programming from Michigan Sports Network, Woodward Sports Network and SportsMap Radio. Michigan Sports Network’s “X’s and Bro’s” hosted by Anthony Bellino will air in mornings from 6-9am and “The Huge Show” hosted by Bill Simonson from 3-6pm. The Detroit based Woodward’s “Morning Woodward” hosted by Joey Namou, Sam ‘Stick’ Day and Kory Woods will air from 10am-1230pm and “Big D Energy” hosted by Joique Bell, Neal Ruhl and Darren McCarty following from 1230-3pm. SportsMap programming will run in nights and weekends with additional Woodward Sports and Detroit centric programming to be added soon.
The launch gives Audacy Sports “97.1 The Ticket” WXYT-FM an FM competitor for the first time since Beasley’s predecessor Greater Media flipped “Detroit Sports 105.1” WMGC to Classic Hip Hop “105.1 The Bounce” in January 2016.
Both translators had been part of Beasley’s Gospel “Detroit Praise Network” that continues on 98.3 W252BX and 99.9 W260CB Detroit and 105.9 WCHB-HD2.
In a unique programming partnership, Beasley Media Group, in collaboration with Woodward Sports, the Michigan Sports Network (MSN) and Sports Map Radio Network, have teamed up to unveil The ROAR, Motor City Sports Talk 93.5 FM and 99.1 FM. The station will provide dedicated Detroit sports fans with an exciting brand-new option for local & regional sports talk!
Officially launched today, the station can be heard via 93.5-FM and 99.1-FM and WCSX 94.7 HD-2. The Detroit PRAISE Network, which was previously on 93.5, can still be heard prominently in the Metro Detroit area on 98.3-FM, 99.9-FM, and WDMK 105.9 HD-2.
