Alpha Media has announced the appointment of Geoff Owens as Content Director of Hip Hop “We 102.9” K275CH Gresham/KINK-HD2 Portland and Assistant Content Director of CHR “Live 95.5” KBFF Portland.
The move marks a return to Portland for Owens, who spent most of his career at iHeartMedia in the market. Owens began his career at then “Jammin 95.5” KXJM Portland as an intern in 2004. He followed the station to 107.5 through CBS and iHeartMedia ownership and name tweak to “Jam’n 107.5“. He rose to night host in 2010, afternoon host in 2012, APD/MD in 2016 and Program Director in 2017. During his tenure at iHeartMedia, which ended in January 2020, Owens also programmed Hip Hop 104.9 KUBE Eatonville/Tacoma WA. He spent the past two years as PD/afternoon host at Bicoastal Media CHR 104.7 KDUK Eugene OR before departing in early May for his return to Portland.

Owens will oversee Programming for KINK-HD2 / WE 102.9 and will report to Portland Operations Manager Gene Sandbloom, Market Manager Lisa Decker and EVP of Content Phil Becker.Sandbloom shares, “Geoff is not only a huge asset to both We 102.9 and Live 95.5, but he brings to Portland a toolkit of skills that we use across all of our Alpha stations. Owens comes to Alpha directly from KDUK as Program Director and PM Drive Host in Eugene. Prior to that, Owens refined his programming, hosting and social media skills at KXJM (Portland), KKRZ (Portland) & KUBE (Seattle).
