Former Cumulus Media Country “Kix 106” WGKX Memphis morning hosts Duane Shannon and Abby Summers are returning to the market to host afternoons on Audacy Country “94.1 The Wolf” WLFP Germantown TN.
The husband/wife duo hosted mornings at WGKX from November 2010 until last February. Shannon also served as PD of WGKX from 2010 until 2020 and programmed former Soft AC “98.9 The Bridge” WKIM-FM Memphis during his tenure. The couple also co-hosted together at Cumulus’ “107.9 The Duke” WOGT and Brewer Broadcasting Hot AC “Alive 95.3” WALV-FM Chattanooga which were programmed by Shannon.
After departing WGKX, they joined Saga Communications Champaign IL as morning hosts on Country 100.3 WIXY with Shannon serving as Program Director of WIXY and Classic Country “WYXY Classic 99.1” WYXY. They will continue in those roles with the addition of afternoons at WLFP.
Duane and Abby succeed Sean ‘Coop’ Tabler at 94.1 The Wolf. Tabler will continue to host mornings at Audacy Classic Hits “Big 98.1” WOGL Philadelphia and afternoons on Audacy’s Country stations in Detroit, Minneapolis and Pittsburgh.
