Jim Leach is departing his roles at Mid West Family Broadcasting Springfield IL next week after 28 years with the company.
Leach currently serves as News Director and afternoon host at News/Talk 92.7 WMAY-FM Taylorville and morning host at Classic Hits “102.5 The Lake” 970 WMAY/102.5 W273DR Springfield. CapitolFax reports that his last day will be Wednesday, June 28 before starting a new job as a public information officer with the Illinois Department of Public Health in July.
Leach first joined then-Country 970 WMAY in 1983. After a stint in television, he rejoined the station part-time in 1990 and full-time in 1995. He has been hosting a daily show on the station since 1996.
