In addition to flipping Variety Hits “106.7 The River” KRVI Mount Vernon/Springfield MO to Classic Rock today, SummitMedia has made morning show changes at two of its other stations in the market.
Jay Fotsch’s “Fotsch & Friends” has moved from CHR “Power 96.5” KSPW Sparta to Country 94.7 KTTS-FM. Fotsch had been with KSPW since 2001 and has hosted mornings since 2008. The show also features KTTS midday host Chelsea Banner.
With Fotsch and Friends moving to KTTS-FM, previous hosts Rick Moore and Nancy Simpson have exited. Moore had been with KTTS since 2005, hosting mornings until 2011 before moving to afternoons and then back to mornings in 2019. Simpson served as a newscaster and Assistant News Director at KTTS from 1998 until 2018 when she was named morning co-host first alongside Bo Jaxon and then Moore.
Back at KSPW, YEA Networks’ Tino Cochino Radio moves from nights to mornings.

This was a surprise. Rick Moore and Nancy Simpson have been in that market practically forever. Seems like Rick worked for Midwest Family’s operation there before going to KTTS. Will also be interesting to see how the market reacts. Springfield is a market that has historically been resistant to change and has not generally responded well to outsiders. Fotsch and Chelsea may not be outsiders, but changes at KTTS used to almost never happen.
We all saw how the market reacted when Kevin and Liz were fired from KGBX, now they’re changing the NUMBER ONE morning radio show from country personalities to pop personalities. I have a feeling KTTS will regret this in the future. No hate on Fotsch, he’s good on-air and i’m sure he’s a nice guy but his style isn’t made for country stations. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out during the next sweeps.
