As first indicated in our 7/18 Domain Insight, Midwest Communications has flipped Variety Hits “94.7/102.9 Jack-FM” WOZZ Mosinee/102.9 W275AC Wausau WI back to Rock “94.7 The Beast“.
The move resurrects the format that had been on the frequencies until its September 2021 flip from “Rock 94.7” to Jack-FM. The station is promoting core artists including AC/DC, Five
Finger Death Punch, Foo Fighters, Led Zeppelin, Linkin Park, Metallica, Nirvana, and Shinedown.
While launching jockless, the company has announced that ‘Scary Terry’ Stevens, who previously served as PD/afternoon host during its “Rock 94.7” incarnation will host afternoons from his base in Lansing MI where he serves as cluster Operations Manager for Midwest and PD/afternoon host of Rock “Q106” WJXQ.

I love it!!! Rock should’ve never been dumped in the first place.
Love the new name, too. Terry does an awesome job in Lansing.
I was a long time listener of Rock94.7. I started out listening to rock radio in the early 70’s. First WRIG then WIFC, Z104 and lastly 94.7. I was convinced by you Terry to give 94.7 a try. Then you left to better yourself, to be closer to family etc.I can understand that. You were missed but 94.7 carried on until one day Midwest Communications pulled the rug out from under me and other progressive rock fans and gave us jackcrap! I was devastated! No more rock radio in central WI. Now you think that we should all come running back? It took me a while to figure out the streaming thing but I have. I am an avid listener of RAZOR 94.7 out of Appleton and will remain so thanks but no thanks! If I want DJliss music I can listen to Spotifi as well.
