In an SEC filing today, MediaCo Holding Inc. announced the approval of new employment agreements for Brian Kei as Chief Operating Officer and Alberto Rodriguez as Chief Revenue Officer and President of MediaCo Audio.
Kei took on the role of COO in May after previously serving as COO/CFO for Estrella Media from 2018 until its acquisition by MediaCo in April. He previously spent 18 years at ABC as Vice President of Finance & Strategy. The new employment agreement with Kei is valued at $1 million in equity with of which 50% shall vest ratably over a period of three years after the date of grant, and 50% shall vest based on performance, as determined by the company in its sole discretion.
Rodriguez spent 24 years at Spanish Broadcasting System from 1999 until resigning last December from his role as President and Chief Operating Officer. During his time at SBS he rose from General Sales Manager for the company’s Miami radio cluster to GM of its Miami television station in 2010, Chief Revenue Officer of their television division in 2011, COO in 2012, and President in 2021. He will MediaCo’s Audio division including Rhythmic CHR “Hot 97” WQHT and Adult R&B 107.5 WBLS New York as well as the management of the Estrella Media properties in Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, and Riverside/San Bernardino.
MediaCo has also entered into an employee lease agreement with majority investor Standard Media as of October 1 to share Andrew Carington as Chief Legal Officer.
Jacqueline Hernández continues as Interim CEO.
