After a 52 year radio career, the past 43 spent in Charleston SC, John Quincy has retired as Program Director and morning host at Cumulus Media News/Talk 1250 WTMA Charleston SC.

After starting his career in his native Kentucky and Savannah GA, Quincy has been a staple of the Charleston market since 1981 first as Production Director and afternoon host at CHR “95 SX” WSSX. He would then serve as PD and afternoon host at AC “Lite Rock 96.9” WXTC-FM from 1985 through 1995 followed by stints as morning host at Country “Bubba 107.5” WBUB, weekend/fill-in host at Oldies 102.5 WXLY, morning show producer at “Cat Country 107.5” WNKT, APD/MD/afternoon host at AC “Sunny 96.9” WSUY, and at WTMA since 2007. He also maintains tribute sites for WTMA and other heritage Charleston AMs.

Quincy shared on Facebook, “Retired! Today was my last day at WTMA and Cumulus Media Charleston.
That puts a cap on a 52-year career in radio, and almost 23 years at Citadel Broadcasting/Cumulus Media.
I see plenty more sleep in my future. Please pray for my wife who’ll have to put up with me around the house full time.”
