After retiring from Cumulus Media CHR “92 Pro-FM” WPRO-FM Providence after 50 years last April, Daniel ‘Giovanni’ Centofanti is joining iHeartMedia Classic Hits “B101” WWBB Providence as afternoon host.
Giovanni commented, “I’m thrilled for the opportunity to join B101. It’s a great fit for me, and I have to admit – I’m especially excited that I don’t have to wake up at 4am.”
WWBB Program Director Adam Rivers added, “Giovanni is a Rhode Island legend. To have him back on the airwaves entertaining commuters during their ride home across Southern New England, is nothing short of tremendous. We’re thrilled to have him on the B101 team.”
Giovanni joined WPRO-FM shortly after it flipped to Top 40 in 1974 as a programming assistant and fill-in host. He would rise through the ranks spending time in every daypart except afternoons and had a long run as Production Director before moving to mornings in 1999 through his retirement on the 50th anniversary of the station’s flip on April 29, 2024.
In addition to WWBB, Giovanni has been tracking nights on Shamrock Communications Classic Hits “92 Mix-FM” WQFM Scranton PA.
