Audacy Regional President Doug Abernethy will exit the company on Friday, May 9.

Abernethy joined then-Entercom in April 2015 after ten years as Regional Vice President of Radio One’s Dallas and Houston properties. He has also held roles as Director of Sales for Cox Houston, AM/FM Dallas, Radio One Washington DC, and Entercom Pittsburgh. During his tenure with the company, Abernethy first served as Market Manager in Miami before relocating to Austin following the merger with CBS Radio in December 2017. He most recently led the Austin cluster, while having regional oversight of Atlanta, Charlotte, Denver, Greensboro, Greenville-Spartanburg, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Norfolk, Phoenix, Portland, Richmond, Sacramento, St. Louis, San Francisco, Seattle, and Wichita.

In a memo to staffers, Abernethy shared the following note:

I am writing to share that my last day with Audacy will be May 9.

It has been a privilege to work alongside you during the past ten plus years with the company, and for some, my thirty six years in the industry.

Each market, team and person I have had the pleasure to work with has made a lasting impression on me. I am incredibly proud of what we accomplished together and confident in your continued success.
