LM Communications Hip Hop “107.9 The Beat” WBTF Midway/Lexington KY has promoted LaShayna ‘What Shayna Say’ Sawyers and Kim ‘Fly KP’ Price to co-Program Directors.
The move marks a full-time return to WBTF for Sawyers, who had been tracking middays following her move to Radio One’s “Hot 100.9” WHHH Indianapolis in October 2023 until being part of Radio One’s February layoffs. She originally joined WBTF in 2017 eventually rising to APD/midday host and afternoon co-host with Mandy Williamson on Hot AC “Hits 106.3” WCDA. She will now move to afternoons at WBTF.
Price has been with WBTF since 2013 most recently serving as Music Director and weekend host, while also serving as a producer for Sports “ESPN 1300/92.5” WLXG. She will now move to middays from 10am-2pm.
The changes coincide with the departure of PD/afternoon host Jay Alexander as he focuses on his other position as Public Information Officer for Fayette County Community Corrections. Alexander had been with WBTF since shortly after its flip to Hip Hop in 2000.
