iHeartMedia will launch a nightly new music show on their Alternative stations.
“iHeartRadio Emerging ALT” will air from 11pm-12am nightly featuring focusing on new and emerging artists. The show will be hosted by “DC 101” WWDC Washington DC night host Alex Mac.
iHeartMedia SVP/Alternative and Rock Lisa Worden said, “Discovering new music is a critical component of the Alternative format, and we’re excited to spotlight independent artists, new artists, unsigned artists and new songs that our audience should know. We remain committed to breaking new artists and have big plans for this show.”
Alex Mac joined DC101 last August after previously serving as APD/afternoon host at CHR “G105” WDCG Raleigh, APD/MD/afternoon host at “Alt 106.3” KDXA Des Moines, and night host at “XL 102.1” WRXL Richmond.
Besides WWDC, the stations carrying the new show include “Alt 98.7” KYSR Los Angeles, “94.5 The Buzz” KTBZ-FM Houston, “Alt 104.5” WRFF Philadelphia, “Channel 93.3” KTCL Denver, and “105.9 The X” WXDX Pittsburgh.
The show joins iHeart’s similar “The New Hit List” that airs in the same timeslot on all of the company’s CHR stations hosted by KYLD San Francisco’s Angelina.
