Original Report 4/2: Socrorro Community Radio Country “Mine Country 102.1” KYRN Socorro NM began stunting on April 1 with Christmas music as “Santa 102.1“.
The move coincided with a call letter change to KNMQ. Owner Steve Edmondson shared a message on the station’s Facebook page. “Thanks for listening to KYRN Mine Country 102.1! Lots of Warrior Sports, local news, great classic country music, and Sunrise Socorro. Thanks to all those that were guest on Sunrise Socorro from coaches, to local & state level office holders and candidates for office, those who gave us information about local events and of course Entertainment Erin. Special thanks to Tammy Pace, George Funkhouser, the late Manny Marquez, and Jaun Baeza. It has been a great ride, but it’s time for change. I have been greatly blessed to have the opportunity to share many great moments with you and I will always cherish those moments.”
