Woodward Community Media has announced the promotion of BJ DeGroot to Market Manager for the company’s six stations in Appleton, Green Bay and Oshkosh WI effective July 1.
DeGroot has been with Woodward since 2014 starting as a board operator and later a producer and host on Sports “The Score” 1570 WSCO/95.3 W237AA Appleton and 99.1 W256DD Oshkosh. He has served as Brand Manager of WSCO and News/Talk 1150 WHBY Kimberly since April 2022. He said, “Leading the entire portfolio of Woodward Community Media stations in Northeast Wisconsin is a significant honor. I’m committed to working with our talented local teams to continue delivering relevant content and strengthening our connection with the community.”
DeGroot will succeed Kelly Radandt, who was named Director of Broadcast in November 2024 after the company purchased its cluster in Springfield IL. Radandt will oversee the company’s broadcast operations in both markets with DeGroot and Springfield Market Manager Kevin O’Dea both reporting to him.
Radandt commented, “This expanded role presents a unique opportunity to unify our broadcast efforts and innovate across markets. I am eager to contribute to Woodward Community Media’s continued success and evolution. Onward!”
Woodward President/CEO Tom Woodward added, “These promotions reflect our commitment to developing strong leadership within Woodward Community Media. Kelly and B.J. have consistently shown strong leadership and dedication. We expect their new roles to drive continued success for our broadcast divisions and reinforce our standing as a leading media organization in the communities we serve.”
