After 32 years in middays at Townsquare Media Conservative Talk/Classic Hits “New Jersey 101.5” WKXW Trenton, Dennis Malloy will step down from the timeslot when his contract is up next month.
Malloy, who joined the station in November 1993, had already cut back to just four days per week last fall. For the majority of his tenure at the station he has been teamed with Judi Franco, but has also hosted solo and with Michele Pilenza. Malloy began his career in 1976 at 1580 WRDI Hammonton NJ and then worked in Hartford before spending time at 610 WIP and in mornings at AC “Sunny 104.5” WSNI and “Kiss 100” WKSZ Philadelphia prior to joining WKXW.
Malloy told listeners on Wednesday that at the end of July he will move to a part-time role as a fill-in host at the station. Franco will remain in middays but the station has yet to confirm plans towards a co-host. He read a statement from the station that said, “After decades behind the mic, Dennis Malloy is stepping into a new chapter moving into a part-time role to enjoy more time with his family and travel.” The station will throw a farewell roast to Malloy in July.
