Veteran air personality and voiceover artist Lisa Taylor has announced she is retiring from full-time work in radio after a 45 year career.
Taylor has spent the past five years as a news anchor for NBC News Radio. She is best known for her thirteen year run at Cumulus Country “99.5 The Wolf” KPLX Dalls including twelve years in mornings along with her time in New York at 97.1 turned 103.5 WYNY where she signed-off its AC format and stayed for its entire duration as Country from 1987 to 1996 and then spent five years as midday host and imaging voice at CHR “Z100” WHTZ. Taylor also worked at WKLC Charleston WV, KSAQ San Antonio, WZNE Tampa, and WFYR Chicago and other voiceover and imaging clients during her career.
Taylor will continue at NBC News Radio on a part-time basis.
Taylor shared on Facebook, “While I’ve been reporting the news for NBC for the last several years, there’s been a self-imposed greater scrutiny of my social media posts…and mostly I ended up deciding to not hit send. Today tho, I feel it’s worth letting you know on this first day of summer 2025, it’s my last day of being the NBC News Midday anchor. It’s actually the last day of my full-time contribution to 45 years of broadcasting…also self-imposed! A lot of thought went into my decision to step back and see what else there is I truly want and need to do…..even if that’s just stuffing the dogs in the car and taking a road trip…or getting back into the courtroom as a CASA for kids…or maybe learning guitar? I could tag hundreds of Mentors, Bosses, Peers, Co-workers and Friends for the contributions they’ve made to my career, but I’m pretty sure they know who they are and that I have nothing but a heart full of gratitude for their inspiration and faith in me. You’ll still hear me on the Heart 24/7 News Station affiliates as a National NBC News Anchor in a part-time roll, and maybe on some commercials and radio station imaging, but I’m NOT so sure you’ll hear any guitar session work on any songs on the radio…but…hey! Who knows! On to more time with all of my loved ones, we’re here for such a short while.”
