After 30 years at New South Radio’s Jackson MS cluster, Nate West has departed from mornings at Country “US 96.3” WUSJ.
West has hosted mornings at WUSJ since October 2020 currently teamed with Traci Lee and Hannah Lane. He previously spent the majority of his career at sister CHR “Y101” WYOY and was interim PD of WUSJ in 2016.
Program Director Traci Lee is beginning the search for a new morning host or team. Lee emphasizes the following bullet points regarding the station:
- Very promotionally active, we love to give our listeners fun experiences
- Country format, but not limiting talent to country background. If you don’t know who HARDY is, we’ll teach you
- We are a family owned company, with 6 stations in our cluster locally (3 clusters total 2 in MS 1 in AL)
- Invest in giving talent tools they need – showprep, coaching, ACMs/CMAs, Morning Show Bootcamp and CRS, we just upgraded our board and are transitioning to Zetta by the end of the year
- Open to investing in podcasting for talent to help build their on-air/off-air brand
- If you don’t have tons of debt, salary will let you live without eating ramen noodles every night
