Audacy has announced the return of Chris Huff to its Houston cluster as Assistant Brand Manager for Variety Hits “95.7 The Spot” KKHH, Hot AC “Mix 96.5” KHMX and Country “100.3 The Bull” KILT-FM Houston to support all three stations’ content strategy, talent, operations and branding.
Huff previously held the role of APD/MD for KILT-FM from 2014-19 when he was promoted to Program Director until his exit in the company’s 2020 cuts. He would add those duties for KKHH when the current format launched in December 2016. Huff has spent the past five years as Senior Radio Analyst for Country Aircheck. Prior to his first stint in Houston, Huff spent twelve years as APD/MD for Cumulus Country 96.3 KSCS and PD of “96.7 The Twister” KTYS. He has also worked in Chattanooga, Knoxville, and Greensboro in his career and was inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame in 2023.
The move follows the July return of former cluster VP/Programming Bruce Logan to KILT-FM and KKHH as Brand Manager.
Huff commented, “I didn’t think anything could convince me to leave Country Aircheck, then Bruce Logan called. This is truly a tremendous opportunity to return to radio with the staff and stations that have been such an integral part of my career.”
Logan added, “We are building a world-class team at Audacy Houston and Chris brings an enormous amount of experience and knowledge about country music in Texas. As the original architects of The Spot, I am thrilled to reunite with him. With Chris collaborating with JR Ammons on Mix 96.5, we have a team that is built for success.”
INSTANT INSIGHT: For the past several years, all of our PPM ratings recaps have credited “Ratings Expert Chris Huff”. Chris helped design our ratings template to replicate the look of the former Radio & Records Ratings Directory and has provided historical data and guidance over the past few years. I am very grateful for his assistance over the years, but even moreso that he now returns to programming where his skillset is even greater.
