Beasley Media has flipped Spanish Tropical “Playa 93.5/99.1” W228CJ Detroit/W256EA Birmingham MI fed via 105.1 WMGC-HD2 to Regional Mexican “La Tricolor“.
The station is utilizing the brand and programming from Entravision, where it is heard in thirteen of their markets including Denver, Las Vegas, Phoenix and Sacramento. The station becomes the third Regional Mexican brand in Detroit joining “La Explosiva 1480/1090” WSDS Salem Township/WCAR Livonia and “La Z 1310/107.9” WDTW/W300DI Dearborn.
The company describes the new brand as “showcasing the best in Regional Mexican music and current hits from iconic and rising artists including Banda MS, Calibre 50, Banda El Recodo, La Arrolladora, Alta Consigna, Alfredo Olivas, and more.” The station will also carry Spanish language coverage of the NFL including Sunday and Monday Night Football, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and playoffs.
Beasley continues to operate the “Playa” brand in Fort Myers, Tampa, and HD subchannels in Charlotte, Las Vegas and Philadelphia.
