Right before the government shutdown a call letter swap was applied for two Washington DC FMs, plus domains for a pending Kentucky sale. Minutes before the the government shutdown, Radio One applied to swap call letters on two of its signals in the Washington DC market. Gospel " Praise 104.1 " WPRS-FM Waldorf will become WDCJ, while Adult R&B " Majic 102.3 " simulcaster 92.7 WDCJ Prince Frederick will take on the WPRS calls. WMMJ/WDCJ ranked tenth in the September 2025 Nielsen Audio ratings with a 3.4 share, while WPRS-FM was sixteenth with a 2.3 share. If the swap is a clean format swap, it would help WMMJ's coverage in Washington's eastern suburbs where 92.7 is a 2.15kW Class A rimshot, while 104.1 is a 20kW Class B. Such a move would theoretically boost the Adult R&B brand against Howard University's 96.3 WHUR , which is currently third in the market with a 6.9 share. The call letter change was applied to take effect on Monday, October 13 but did not receive FCC approval ahead of the shutdown. Following KQRA's move to the stronge r 92.9 signal last week, it appears Mid-West Family Broadcasting will launch Sports Betting " 102.1 The Won " utilizing programming from VSiN. A site for the new brand is already live at 1021TheWon.com showing the station's programming schedule with news feeds for the professional teams in Kansas City and St. Louis. The move will bring a third Sports brand to the Springfield market joining iHeartMedia's " Fox Sports 1400 " KGMY and Zimmer Broadcasting's " 96.9 The Jock " 1060 KBFL/96.9 K245CA. Steve Newberry has registered ZingFM.com , Zing921.com , and 921Zing1067.com for his pending acquisition of Country " Kix 92.1 " WTKY-FM Tompkinsville KY. The station will join Newberry's cluster in Glasgow with the rimshot gaining a simulcast on what is now 98.5 W253BN Glasgow, which holds a Construction Permit to relocate to 106.7.
