What was originally intended to be a short-term holiday simulcast looks to be lasting slightly longer.
As MacDonald Garber Broadcasting AC “Lite 96.3” WLXT Petoskey MI continues to operate at lower power via STA following its tower collapse in an ice storm last March, when it went all-Christmas in November it began simulcasting on Country “96.7 The Bull” WLXV Cadillac. As Christmas music has come to an end, the simulcast is now continuing with the stations rebranding as “Lite 96“.
On the station’s website it notes, “While we continue to work on restoring the signal strength we enjoyed before the historic Ice Storm in March, 2025, you can continue to listen to Lite on 96.3 in the North (Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Cheboygan, Gaylord, Charlevoix) and 96.7 to the South (Traverse City, Kalkaska, Cadillac).”
The Country format continues to stream at HotCountryBull.com.
Original Report 11/9: As MacDonald Garber Broadcasting AC “Lite 96.3” WLXT Petoskey MI went all-Christmas on Friday, it added a simulcast on 96.7 WLXV Cadillac.
The move reunites the two signals, which previously simulcasted from 1994 until 2002, under the “Lite” brand. Both signals reach different portions of the Traverse City market, with WLXV adding more of the city itself. It also gives Cadillac an AC competitor to Up North Radio’s 107.9 WCDY.
The former Country “96.7 The Bull” programming continues to be heard online.
