The BBC is bringing its “Introducing” new music platform to the US in partnership with the College Radio Foundation.
“BBC Introducing in America” will air monthly starting Friday, December 5 starting in Tennessee spotlighting local artists from the state as well as the UK. The first UK artist to be spotlighted on the show will be Nectar Woode, who previously appeared on BBC Introducing in 2022 and performed on the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury in 2025.
The Tennessee show will be hosted by University of Tennessee’s 90.3 WUTK Knoxville seniors Sherleen Mwaura and Cade Beasley. It will also feature hosts from Vanderbilt University’s WRVU.
Sherleen Mwaura said, “I’m incredibly grateful to co-host the first BBC Introducing in America show and pour into the local live music space! This community allows me to help champion emerging artists, create opportunities for their voices to be heard, and support the stories that deserve a platform.”
Cade Beasley added, “I’m so excited to get the opportunity to be a part of the first BBC Introducing show in the U.S. If you told me a year ago I would be doing this, I’d call you a liar.”
Other stations in Tennessee airing the program include: 88.5 WVCP, WUMC, The Perch, WTTU, WETS-FM, WMTS, and WUTM.
