Saga Communications Hot AC “Mix 96.5” WOXL Asheville NC has made changes in mornings and afternoons.
RadioCraft’s The TJ Show joins the lineup in mornings from 6-10am. The TJ Taormina led program fills the morning timeslot that had been held by Melanie Wilkinson and Crystal Brown.
Wilkinson moves to afternoons from 2-7pm. She has co-hosted mornings at WOXL since 2020 and previously worked at WRGC Sylva NC. She commented, “I’m excited to bring the same laughs, music, and positivity people have come to expect from me, with fun daily topics, real conversation, and plenty of listener interaction. The show is built to feel familiar and upbeat, whether people are leaving work, picking up the kids, or running errands around Western North Carolina.”
The changes follow Brown’s move to a part-time role at the station. She joined Wilkinson in mornings in February 2024 after previously spending five years in mornings on sister Classic Rock “105.9 The Mountain” WTMT. She has also held on-air roles at multiple stations in the Greenville/New Bern NC market and at WFBC-FM Greenville SC.
With the changes, previous afternoon host Shannon Steele comes off air but continues as cluster Marketing Director.
Cluster Operations Director Steve Richards said, “We’re excited to start this new chapter. Mix 96.5 has always been about Good Music, Good Mood, and this lineup keeps that going from start to finish. TJ brings a fun, real approach to mornings, and Melanie will do what she does best: connect with our community in an authentic and energetic way.”
