For the second time in a matter of weeks, a southern Indiana market is left without Conservative Talk as Midwest Communications has surrendered the license of 1230 WIBQ Terre Haute.
Concurrently, the company has flipped its translator W250BZ Terre Haute to 1960s/70s Oldies “Superhits 97.9” fed by 99.9 WTHI-HD2. The new brand creates a flanker to co-owned Classic Hits 102.7 WBOW and is being overseen by cluster Operations Manager Steve Cannon.
WIBQ had a 2.4 share in the Spring 2025 Nielsen Audio ratings.
The demise of WIBQ follows Townsquare Media taking 1280 WGBF Evansville off the air on December 31.
