Thomas Hodgins’ Alexandra Communications is selling its three stations in Baker OR. Alexandra sells “Supertalk” 1430 KLBM La Grande and 1490 KBKR Baker, and Classic Hits “Hit Radio 95.3” KKBC-FM Baker to Randy and Debra McKone’s Elkhorn Media Group for $50,000. Alexandra will retain the land that holds the two AM towers and remove the towers within 90 days of closing, although Elkhorn has an option to purchase KBKR’s site by then. The stations will join the buyer’s Classic Rock “92.9 The Hawk” KHKF Island City, Hot AC “102.3 The River” KWRL La Grande, Conservative Talk “News Talk 103.1” KVBL Union, and Classic Country 104.7 KCMB Baker in Elkhorn’s northeastern Oregon holdings. Alexandra had recently closed on the acquisitions of the three stations along with two others from Pacific Empire Radio Corporation.
After beginning to operate Soaring Eagle Productions stations in November 2024 as part of its Christian AC “The River” network, River Radio Ministries is acquiring the stations outright. River Radio Ministries will assume $91,000 in debt for the licenses of 88.5 WKEN Kenton, 88.9 WHEI Tiffin, 88.9 WSOH Zanesfield OH, 90.1 WJEE Bolivar, 90.7 WVMC-FM Mansfield and translators 88.9 W204CU Findlay, 91.1 W216AH Ashland, and 102.7 W274AN Jefferson OH. Excluded from the deal is Soaring Eagle’s offices in Bellefontaine OH.
