The nightly syndicated “Ground Zero with Clyde Lewis” will exit syndication at the end of January.
The show is currently distributed by Talk Media Network and based out of Salem Media Group’s “860 The Answer” KPAM Troutdale/Portland OR. Various guest hosts have led the show for the past couple of months while Lewis recovers from kidney failure.
In making the announcement over the end of their syndication, the show noted that it has not received any advertising revenue from syndication for the past four years while paying to utilize the KPAM studio space and has lost several affiliates during his absence. The show will relaunch once Lewis exits the nursing facility in mid-February on his website. Current affiliates of the show include WHAS Louisville, KIDO Boise, and WYRD-FM Greenville SC.
After working at multiple Salt Lake City stations, Lewis launched “Ground Zero” in 1995 as a Sunday night show on KCNR and later KBER-FM. He would relocate to Portland in 1999 with an earlier syndication attempt and hosted variations of the show at stations including 910 KOTK, 101.1 KUFO and multiple webcasters. The show would be picked up by 101.1 KXL-FM in 2011 and relaunched into syndication by Premiere Networks the following year.
